In short
Everyone who enrolls with your site through LinxyPass carries your Brand as a card in their Linxy App, and taps it to sign in. By default the card is a field of color derived from your Mark with your name across it. Under Brand appearance on your LinxyPass partner page you can replace that field with your own artwork and add an icon — either by uploading a finished image or by building one from a color, a pattern or a photo in the page itself.
Two things are not yours to change and are worth knowing before you design anything: the platform draws your Brand name, the trust badge and the action bar on top of whatever you send, and your artwork is reviewed before it goes live. The white name sits across the top of the card, so the top third of your image should be dark. Artwork that measures below the legibility floor there is not refused — but it is flagged to you and to the reviewer, and you can ask for a manual review if you believe it reads fine.
Where the card appears
Your artwork appears in exactly two places, both inside the Linxy App: on your card in a member’s Connections list, and as the cover across the top of the screen when they open your Connection. It is never used on a web page, in an email, or on your own site — the login image your site shows is a different asset with its own editor (see LinxyPass for site owners). A member who pins your Brand to an iPhone home screen gets your card artwork as the icon; on Android the icon is your color with your initial.
The card, and what the platform draws
The card is 358 × 172 points, and your artwork runs corner to corner behind it. The platform then draws three things over your image, and nothing you upload can replace them:
| Drawn by the platform | Where | Why it is not yours |
|---|---|---|
| Your Brand name, in white, with the icon beside it | A band across the top — the text zone | The name is always platform text so a card can never claim to be someone else |
| The trust badge | A small white chip in the corner | A badge baked into artwork would be a forged badge |
| The action bar: Connect · Website · Sign in | Flush along the bottom | It is the member’s controls, not your message |
A soft darkening is laid over the top and the left of your image before the name is drawn, so that white text has something to sit on. It is applied only when artwork is present, and it is the same on every Brand’s card. Do not bake a darkening of your own into the export — the card would be darkened twice. Everything below the band and above the bar is yours. Use the The zones and Full guide buttons on the Brand appearance page to see the geometry drawn over a live preview, and to download the 1074 × 516 template with the zones marked.
What to supply
| Card background | Icon | |
|---|---|---|
| Format | PNG or JPEG | PNG with a transparent background |
| Size | 1074 × 516 pixels, or any larger image in the same shape — it is resized for you | Square, 256 × 256 or larger — resized to 256 |
| File limit | 2 MB after resizing | 512 KB |
| Legibility floor | 4.5:1 against white, measured across the top band | Not measured |
| Where it shows | The whole card, behind the platform’s text | Beside your name in the band |
The card and the icon are one submission. Upload or build the card, add the icon if you want one, choose where the band sits (Where the band sits lets you nudge which part of the image is under the name; Center resets it), review the preview under This is what the reviewer will see, and submit. One review decision covers both.
Building a card instead of uploading one
If you have no artwork, Build a card makes one in the page. You choose a style — a single Brand color; a pattern with a base and an accent color; or an image you upload, position and zoom — then add a subline and your website, and either submit it directly or download the PNG it produced. Shade the top darkens the top of an image for you, up to a limit, so that a photo you like can be made to pass the band. The builder produces an ordinary 1074 × 516 image that goes through exactly the same checks and the same review as an upload; it is a faster way to a card, not a way around the rules.
The checks
| Check | Outcome if it fails | What you are told |
|---|---|---|
| Readable image, right format | Refused | Which format is needed |
| Dimensions and shape | Refused | Whether the problem is size or shape, with the size you sent |
| File size | Refused | Your file’s size and the limit |
| Legibility across the top band | Accepted, flagged | The ratio measured, the ratio required, and the instruction to keep the top third dark, full width |
Legibility is advice rather than a gate because your artwork is yours and the reviewer is a person. A flagged card goes to review with its measurement attached; Request a manual review lets you say why you believe it reads. Be aware the measurement is stricter than it once was: artwork that passed earlier this year can be flagged today.
Review, withdrawal and removal
Artwork is reviewed before it goes live. Until then your existing card — your color, or your previously approved artwork — is what members see; a submission never replaces a live card until it is approved. You can Withdraw a submission while it is waiting. Once artwork is live, Remove artwork returns the card to your Mark color immediately, and the same is true of Remove icon. Linxy can also take approved artwork down after the fact, in which case the card falls back to your color.
No time is promised for review. If a launch depends on the card, submit well ahead of it.
Symptoms, causes and fixes
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| “The card needs to be 1074 x 516, or any larger size in the same shape” | Wrong aspect ratio | Export at 1074 × 516, or at any multiple of it |
| “The icon needs to be square” | Non-square PNG | Export a square PNG, 256 or larger, transparent background |
| Legibility warning despite a dark left side | The band is measured in cells across its full width | Darken the whole top third, not just where the name begins |
| Members still see the plain color after submitting | Review has not happened yet | Wait; the live card never changes until approval |
| The card looks darker in the App than my file | The platform’s own darkening over the top and left, plus one you baked in | Export without a darkening of your own |
| Artwork disappeared and the card is back to color | You removed it, or it was taken down | Check the Brand appearance page; resubmit if appropriate |
| My login image on the site did not change | That is a different asset | Edit it from the login-image editor, not Brand appearance |
