Host videos and “Presented by” on events

In short

A host video is a short video an organizer records for the event’s invitation. For open events it also plays in Discover — in the featured spot, in the From Linxy events row, and full screen. A Presenting sponsor added to the invitation is shown as Presented by wherever the event appears.

The host video

The host video belongs to the event’s invitation — the same A short video from the hosts that Occasions use, about two minutes at most. It’s prepared in the background and is usually ready in a few minutes.

Where it plays

  • Featured — if the event is featured, in the square frame at the top of Discover. It plays silently; tapping the video opens it full screen with sound, and the speaker button turns the sound on where it is. A portrait video is framed on its upper part, where faces usually are.
  • From Linxy events — the row of videos in Discover, for public events that haven’t ended and have In Discover switched on.
  • Full screen — tap a video in the row, or the featured video; it plays with sound. Viewers tap for the next one or swipe up to open your event.

Your Mark’s featured content can appear in the row too. Content that opens only in a certain way — at a location, shielded, secure, or by scan only — never plays in the row; it shows as a still picture with See event.

Presented by

Add a sponsor with the Presenting tier in the invitation’s sponsors. Its name shows as Presented by on the Discover featured spot, event cards, the full-screen video and the event page. Tapping it opens the sponsor’s link inside the Linxy App. Views and taps are counted in the same sponsor report as invitations.
