In short
In the Linxy App, Events has three tabs. Discover shows featured events and short videos from organizers. Near you lists open events around a place you choose. Your events keeps the events you’ve organized or checked in to. Events opens on Your events once you have one, and on Discover until then.

Discover
At the top is a Featured event, in a square frame. When the organizer has recorded a host video, it plays silently: tap the video to watch it full screen with sound, or tap the speaker button to turn the sound on where it is. Below it, From Linxy events is a row of host videos and featured content from open events. Tap one to watch it full screen: tap for the next video, or swipe up to open the event. Happening soon near you lists a few events coming up in your area (until you set an area, it’s Happening soon, the soonest anywhere).
Tapping any event opens the same event page you get by scanning the event’s Mark. The featured event also has See event and I’m interested or Reply (see “I’m interested” and Reply).
Near you
The bar at the top shows your place, how far to look, which kinds of events and when. Tap Change to adjust it. Each card shows the distance from your place, or Nearby when it’s close. The first time, you’ll see Find events near you and Set your area.
Setting your area
- Place — tap Use my current location, or search a city, ZIP code or venue. Linxy asks for location permission only when you tap Use my current location, never before.
- Distance — 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 miles, or Anywhere.
- Event types — Any, or one or more of Professional & Industry, Social & Celebration, Entertainment & Culture, Community & Civic, Sports & Active, and Education & Youth.
- When — This week, This month, Next 3 months or Any time.
As you choose, the button shows how many events match — Show 12 events, for example. Tapping it saves your area to your account, so it’s the same on your other phones. Reset puts the choices back to 25 miles, any type and any time.
Your events
Upcoming and Past. Events that have ended stay here, with the people you met. Discover more events takes you back to Discover.
Which events appear
Discover and Near you show events whose organizers have made them public, that are active and that haven’t ended. Near you also leaves out events you organize, have checked in to or have replied to; events you organize or have checked in to are under Your events. Occasions — weddings, reunions, memorials and the like — never appear here; they reach guests only as invitations.
Symptoms, causes and fixes

| “Location is off for Linxy” | Location permission was declined | Allow it in Settings, or search a place instead |
| “That place could not be found” | The search didn’t match a place | Try the city and state, or a ZIP code |
| An event you know about isn’t listed | It isn’t public, has ended, or you already checked in | Look under Your events, or ask the organizer |
| A video shows only a still picture | Its content opens only in a certain way, for example at a location | Tap See event and open it from there |
