Scanning an event Mark

In short

When an organizer sets a Mark to open its event, scanning it with the Linxy App opens the event page: the event’s cover, dates and venue, its featured content, and buttons to Check in and Connect. The featured content is whatever the Mark normally opens, with all of its own rules still in place.

What the event page shows

The event’s name, type, dates and venue, a Featured content card (a video, photo or page), About this event, and Who’s here. Tapping the featured content opens it exactly as the Mark would on its own — so a location-restricted or protected item still asks for whatever it normally asks for.

Checking in

Check in takes you into the event: your tags, the people here, interests, Connections and the event group chat, with Featured content · Watch again at the top. If the organizer hasn’t opened check-in yet, you’ll see Check-in is not open yet for this event; after it ends, Check-in is closed. Once an event has ended, its page shows Ended and People you met.

Connect

Connect joins the event’s own Connection, so the organizer can reach you with event news in the Linxy App. It is separate from connecting with other attendees, which you do after checking in.

Without the app

Opened in a web browser, the same Mark shows a public event page with the featured content and a Check in with the Linxy App panel with links to the App Store and Google Play. Protected content is never shown on the public page.

For organizers

The event page appears when Scans open the event is switched on in the Mark’s Event & Networking card in the Linxy Mark editor, which gives the Mark the Event role (saved with Update Linxy Mark). While the event is still a draft, scans open the content until you make the event active. That role never overrides the Mark’s routing rules — the featured content is what the Mark resolves to after all of them. NFC tags written inside the Mark keep their own destinations. If the Mark has no content yet, you’ll see an Add featured content box on the event page; only you see it, and Choose content takes you to the Mark editor.
