Hosting a community

In short

Everything you host is listed under Communities in the web app — communities on your own Marks and the ones your Occasions created. From each one you reach its Dashboard (posts, members, invites, messages), Customize (how it looks and how prints work), and the Print station.

These screens are built for the web and work on a phone: in the Linxy App they open inside the app through Advanced web access. The member side — reading, posting, the album — is native in the app.

Turning a community on

Open the Linxy Mark’s community settings, switch on Enable Community and choose the type: Active Community (free and built in, with its own messenger) or Fusion Community (encrypted Fusion Connections for commercial use). The type is permanent for that Mark.

Occasions don’t need this step: publishing an Occasion creates its community, and you are its host.

Print requestsThe queue of print requests: approve, print, cancel or download them, and cancel an auto-print countdown. See Requesting a print and Running the print station

On the public community page you can also remove any post from its ⋯ menu. Moderators can do the same.

Invites and the community Linxy IQ

People connect only by scanning your Mark or Linxy IQ, or by opening one of your invite links.

ToolUse
Shared community linkOne link anyone can use. Rotating it replaces it with a new one and disables the old
Personal invite linkFor one person or unlimited use, with an optional label and an expiry (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or never)
How new connections are handledAuto-connect (anyone with a valid invite connects at once) or review every request yourself
Linxy IQ for this communityGenerate a scannable Linxy IQ with a curated background or your own image, to print on cards, signage or favors. You can also request custom artwork from the Linxy team

Customize

Customize covers how the community looks — name, icon, hero image, accent color, welcome message, your label (Host, Coach, Pastor, Organizer) and the hint in the post composer — with a live preview. It also holds everything about prints: the Print requests switch, which sizes are offered under Available print sizes (8×8 and 16×20 are off until you turn them on) and an optional custom size, Open Bar mode, Auto-print (instant or after a cancel window) and PrintNode, Limit per email address, the notification email, the Minimum resolution (DPI) and the Bypass minimum resolution switch, Default fit on paper, and Print branding. Those are covered in Print branding and scannable prints and Requesting a print.

Things people commonly get wrong

“I have to manage my community from a computer.”The same pages open inside the Linxy App and are laid out for a phone. Use Advanced web access in the app.
“Rotating the shared link removes members.”It only stops the old link working. Everyone already in stays in.
“My Occasion’s community is missing from my Marks.”Occasion communities aren’t on a Mark you created. Find them under Communities, or on the Occasion’s Community tab.
