Bio pages in the Linxy App

In short

A bio page is one page, at its own short link (Dynamic Link) on 1vu.me, that holds your links, photos, offers and ways to reach you. In the Linxy App, tap Create and choose Bio page under Or build a page. Start from one of 78 complete designs, make it yours, then tap Publish. The page stays hidden until you publish it.

Making a bio page

  1. Tap Create on the Home screen. Under the touchpoint types, below Or build a page, tap Bio page.
  2. My bio pages opens. Tap New (or Make my first bio page).
  3. Add a Profile photo if you like, and a page name of up to 50 characters. It is shown at the top of the page.
  4. Choose the address after 1vu.me/. Leave it empty for a random address. You can change it later.
  5. Under Start from a design, tap See all 78 designs. Each design shows a complete sample page. People shows the designs led by your own photo. Tap one to see it full size, swipe to compare, then tap Use this theme.
  6. Leave Start with this sample page on to get the whole sample: its blocks, words and photos. Then edit, remove or add anything. Switch it off to choose what the page is for instead, for example a shop, a musician or a nonprofit, and get a smaller starting set of blocks.
  7. Tap Create from this design (or Create and add blocks). The builder opens.

Making the sample yours. Replace the sample words and photos with your own. A profile photo you add replaces the sample one. Sample link buttons show Needs a link in the builder and stay off the page until you add their links. Addresses and phone numbers start empty, and sample offer and goal dates start a month or so ahead.

Your plan sets how many bio pages you can have. If you reach the limit, the app says so when you tap New.

One page for one job. Next to Bio page, the Landing page card makes a page from a starter, such as a pet ID, a menu or a safety data sheet, using this same builder. See Landing pages in the Linxy App.

The builder

The top of the builder shows the page address, whether it is Live or Hidden, and Saved once a change has gone through. Every change saves right away, so there is no Save button for the page itself. The builder has four tabs:

TabWhat it holds
ContentThe page name, tagline and small label, and the list of blocks
SocialYour social profile links, and where the icons sit: Under my name, At the bottom or Hidden. Tap Save social links
DesignThe theme, accent color, block style, fonts and photos
SettingsThe address, search title and description, password, page options, payment methods, publishing and deleting

Blocks

A block is one piece of the page: a link button, a photo card, a contact form, opening hours and so on.

  • Add a block opens the full list in sections: Page sections, Linxy, Basics, Media, Contact, Business and Social posts. Page sections holds the larger blocks landing pages are made of: a cover, formatted text, facts, steps and Message the owner. Tap a section to open or close it, or tap Expand all / Collapse all. Typing in the search box shows only the matching blocks.
  • Tap a block to edit it. Each block has its own fields. Tap Add block for a new one, or Save block.
  • Drag a block to move it. Use its switch to hide it from the page without deleting it.
  • To remove a block, open it and tap Delete. It is removed from the page right away.

Blocks made for bio pages include:

BlockWhat it does
Connect with meVisitors with the Linxy App become a Connection with you after confirming with Face ID or fingerprint. Visitors without the app are offered it first
Image card and CarouselPhotos with a title and a link. Any photo from your phone works: it is turned upright, resized for the page and its location data removed. Wide photos look best
OfferA coupon with a code to copy and a countdown
Price listA menu or service list with prices
HoursOpening hours with an Open now label
TestimonialA quote from a happy customer
StatsUp to three big numbers
ScheduleClass or event times, each with its own link
FormCollects answers with the fields you choose. Answers appear under Replies (see below)
Pay, donate or tipPayPal or card on the page, plus Venmo, Cash App and Zelle. See Taking payments on a bio page
PayPal ButtonOne button that takes a payment to a PayPal email, by PayPal or card, on the page. See The PayPal Button block

Scan with Linxy (iPhone)A button that opens the Linxy App Clip scanner, so iPhone visitors can scan Linxy Marks without downloading anything. It shows only on iPhone
VideoA video from your phone, made into a version that plays on every phone. Switch on Show as a teaser card and the block becomes a card with a short silent preview, a title and small text. A tap opens the video full screen, from the start, with sound
HTMLYour own HTML. A safety check removes scripts, styles and forms, and checks every link and image like a new Dynamic Link. Embeds from Vimeo, Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Google Maps, Google Forms and Calendly work

The list also has the familiar blocks: links, headings, text, images, music, FAQs, contact details, maps, and posts from social networks. YouTube is not offered as a block, because its videos come with ads.

When and who sees it. Every block can be limited to a start and end time, to visitors in chosen countries (Only visitors in), and to visitors whose browser uses a chosen language.

Design: themes, colors and fonts

  • Theme. Tap the theme row to choose from 78 themes. Each is a complete look: layout, colors, background, block style and fonts. Some themes are included in paid plans only.
  • Accent color. The first swatch is the theme’s own color. Pick another to change buttons and highlights.
  • Block style and fonts can be changed from what the theme uses.
  • Photos. Tap the profile photo or cover photo to take a new one, choose one, or Remove photo. Under them, the builder says what the current theme does with each photo (see the table below). Show profile photo turns the profile photo on or off.
  • Button look. Each button block has its own look: style, shape, color, text color, width and shadow. See Button look.

Which photo each theme shows.

Theme layoutWhat visitors see
Cover and banner themesBoth: the cover photo across the top and the profile photo below it
Themes with one big photo at the top (for example Harbor)The cover photo. The profile photo is used there only when there is no cover photo
Portrait and Polaroid themesThe profile photo. The cover photo is used only when there is no profile photo
All other themesThe profile photo only. The cover photo is kept for when you switch to a theme that uses one

Placing a photo. After you pick any photo (profile, cover, image card, carousel, video poster or link icon), a frame opens in the exact shape of its spot on the page. Pinch to zoom and drag to place the photo, then tap Use photo. The grid lines help line up faces and horizons. Tap Cancel to keep the photo you had.

Preview, publish and share

Preview. Tap the eye at the top of the builder to see the real page, exactly as visitors will, even while it is hidden. Links inside the preview don’t open. Tap Back to editing to return.

Publish. Tap Publish. The page goes live at its 1vu.me address and the Your page is live screen opens. Once the page is live, the same button reads Share and opens that screen again.

On Your page is live:

  • Copy link and Share send the address anywhere.
  • Put it on a touchpoint. New Linxy Mark turns a photo or your artwork into a Mark that opens the page. Write to an NFC tag writes the page to a tag with this phone. Both copy the page link first: paste it as the website the touchpoint opens.
  • Page views and Replies and signups show how the page is doing. Tap a reply to see every answer. You can select the text to copy it.

To take the page down, open Settings and tap Hide this page. Visitors then see This page isn’t published yet until you publish it again. Nothing on the page is lost.

Making many pages from a CSV file

For many pages at once, make a spreadsheet with one row per page. Each row names one of the designs and fills in that page’s details. On a computer go to lnxy.me/account/bio-import. In the App, tap Make pages from a CSV file at the bottom of My bio pages.

  1. Get the template and open it in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. Keep the first row of column names.
  2. Fill in one row per page, then save it as a CSV file (up to 100 rows).
  3. Choose the file. Every row is checked and nothing is made yet. Rows marked Fix show what to correct.
  4. Tap Make. The ready rows become pages in My bio pages. Rows with problems are skipped.
ColumnWhat to enter
design (required)A design’s short name, for example spotlight or trattoria. The list of names is on the import page
name (required)The page name, up to 50 characters
addressThe page’s short address. Leave it empty for a random one
tagline, labelThe line under the name, and the small label some designs show
photo, coverThe https link of the photo itself (JPG, PNG, WEBP or HEIC). A link to a page that shows the photo, such as a sharing page, doesn’t work. Without a photo, the design’s sample photo is used
link1_text, link1_url … up to link6Link buttons. They fill the design’s sample buttons in order. Sample buttons left without a link are removed
email, instagram, facebook and other social namesYour social profiles
publishyes makes the page live right away. Otherwise it stays hidden until you publish it

The design’s other sample blocks, such as a price list or a testimonial, are kept for you to edit in the builder.

What stays on the web

A few things are edited only on the web at lnxy.me: the chat widgets (Intercom, Tawk.to and Tidio), custom CSS and tracking pixels. In the app these blocks show a lock and say so.
