Creating an Occasion and its invitation

In short

Start with what the occasion is, then its name, date and place. The invitation is set up for you from that choice — wording, reply buttons and the questions that suit it — and you change whatever you like. When it reads right, Publish. Nothing reaches a guest until you send it.

On the web

Open Occasions and choose Plan your first occasion (or New occasion). Pick what it is, then give it a name, a date and a place. The Occasion then has these tabs. Details — name, date, time and place — is in the line above them (Occasions › Details).

In the Linxy App

Open Invitations, go to the Hosting tab and choose New occasion. After the kind and details, the Occasion opens with four tabs: Invitation, Guests, Messages and Replies. You send the invitation from Messages, where The invitation sits at the top of the plan. On the Invitation tab, tap a row to change it:

RowWhat you set
DetailsName, date and place
WordingThe small line above the name, the headline, the line under it, and your message
Reply buttonsThe words on the yes and no buttons, and whether guests can watch online
Reply byThe last day guests can reply
QuestionsWhich questions the reply asks, and which are required
DesignThe opening page, lettering, colors and sponsors. It opens the full designer inside the app
Who can replyOnly the guests on your list, or anyone with the invitation

Tap the cover to choose or take a photo, and use Add a video message for a short video from the hosts. Preview shows the invitation exactly as a guest will see it.

What the invitation holds

The date and place come from the Occasion’s details. You add a cover photo, the wording, a message from the hosts, an optional host video, and up to six links — a registry, a fund, anything guests may want to open. Links are only shown; nothing is paid through Linxy.

Publishing

Publish makes sure every guest on your list has a working personal link, gives the Occasion an event link that works for everyone, and opens its community. Publishing doesn’t send anything — you send from the Send tab on the web, or from Messages in the Linxy App, when you’re ready. You can keep editing after publishing; choose Save and keep published. Stop replies closes replies without deleting anything, and publishing again reopens them.

Things people commonly get wrong

“Publishing sends the invitation.”It only makes it ready. Sending is a separate step.
“Changing the kind will lose my design.”A new kind replaces the wording and questions only. Your design, sponsors, cover and video are kept.
“I need the web app to host.”Everything can be done in the Linxy App. The designer opens inside the app too.
