Your Playlists

In short

The Playlists screen lists every Linxy Mark and Dynamic Link of yours that has its playlist switched on, newest first. Tap one to play it, or use its more button to manage it. To reach it from Home, turn on the Playlists tile in Settings.

Adding the Playlists tile to Home

  1. Open Settings and go to Home Screen.
  2. Turn on Playlists. It starts off.
  3. The pink Playlists tile appears on Home, below My Files.

Turn the switch off to hide the tile again. Your playlists are not affected.

What the list shows

Each row shows the playlist’s picture, its name, how many items it has, and whether it is a Linxy Mark or a Dynamic Link, for example 57 videos · Dynamic Link. The number at the top is how many playlists you have.

  • Search by name.
  • Narrow the list with All, Linxy Marks or Dynamic Links.
  • Pull down to refresh.

Making a new playlist

Tap + at the top of the Playlists screen (or New playlist when you have none yet), then choose:

ChoiceWhat happens
A new playlist linkAdd items with the three buttons at the top, in any mix:
My Files: photos, videos, audio or documents you already have.
This phone: photos and videos from Photos, or documents and audio from Files. They are saved to My Files and checked for viruses first.
A link: paste a web page, or a link to a video, audio, photo or document file. Linxy checks it before it is added (see below).
Items play in the order shown, numbered. Drag the handle on the right to change the order, or tap × to remove one. Next works once every item is ready. Name the playlist and choose whether it is private. Linxy makes a new Dynamic Link that plays them in that order.
On one of my Linxy MarksChoose a Mark. Its Content & playback screen opens: add items and switch its playlist on.

Adding a link

Every link is checked with Google Safe Browsing, PhishTank and VirusTotal, the same checks as a new Dynamic Link. A web page is added as a page. A video, audio, photo or document file is copied into My Files, checked for viruses and confirmed to be the type it claims, so it plays from Linxy rather than from the other site.

A link is refused, with the reason shown, when a check flags it, when it is a YouTube video (YouTube can show ads, which Linxy cannot switch off), when a file is over 1 GB, or when the page does not load. Nothing is added when a link is refused.

Fade between photos

On a Mark or Dynamic Link, open Content & playback and switch on Fade between photos (it shows when the list has two or more photos). In Play all and Shuffle, each photo then fades into the next over one second, like a slideshow, with no pause or Up next card between two photos. Videos and pages still use the pause setting. The same fade plays in a browser.
