In short
Add your guests with a name and at least a mobile number or an email, and how many seats each invitation holds. Every guest gets a personal link. Then send: one message, filled in for each guest with their own link. Guests with a mobile number get a text; email is used only for guests with nothing else. A badge on the guest list shows who has connected in the Linxy App.

Building the guest list
| How | |
|---|---|
| On the web | On the Guests tab, paste your list or drop a CSV file: name, email, mobile, party size. A header row naming the columns is fine |
| In the Linxy App | On the Guests tab, pick people from your phone’s contacts or paste a list |
Each guest needs a name and at least an email or a mobile number. Party size is the number of seats you hold for that invitation — a family of four gets four.
Personal links and the event link
Every guest has a personal link that opens their own invitation. Links are created when you publish (or with Generate RSVP links on the web) and last until a week after the Occasion.
The Occasion also has one event link that works for everyone — the one to print on cards or share in a group. On a guest-list invitation it finds the guest by the verified phone number or email on their Linxy account. With “anyone with the link,” it lets new guests reply and adds them to your list.
Sending
On the web’s Send tab, write one message; each guest’s name and link are filled in for them. Send to everyone not yet sent or everyone with a link, and use Send me a test first.
| Guest has | They receive |
|---|---|
| A mobile number | A text message |
| Only an email | An email |
The Linxy App chooses this for each guest. On the web’s Send tab you can also pick the channel yourself.
In the Linxy App, open the Occasion’s Messages tab and tap The invitation at the top of the plan. It shows how each guest will get it and what they receive. Send the rest reaches the guests not yet sent; guests you add later are sent separately from the same place.
To send a guest their link yourself — in Messenger or WhatsApp, say — use Copy beside that guest. It carries that guest’s personal link, so send it only to them.
The welcome message
On the web’s Send tab, Edit the welcome message lets you write a message that each guest receives once, the moment they connect — not by email, but inside their Connection with you in the Linxy App. A reply opens the conversation. Editing it changes it for guests who haven’t connected yet; it isn’t resent.
Who has connected
Guest lists show a Connection badge beside each guest who replied in the Linxy App and connected with you. In the app, tap a guest’s name to message them: in their Connection if they have one, otherwise by text. See Messages to guests.
Symptoms, causes and fixes
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Rows in a pasted list were skipped | No email or mobile on those rows | Add one and paste again |
| A guest isn’t offered for sending | They have no link yet | Publish, or generate links |
| A guest on the list can’t reply through the event link | Their Linxy account’s verified phone or email doesn’t match your list | Send them their personal link |
| A guest never got a text | No mobile number, or a typo | Check their row, or copy their link to them |
