In short
Add a short video to your invitation — a hello from you, and a word about what the questions are for. Keep it to about two minutes. Guests see a tap to watch button just above the reply button, and the video plays inside the Linxy App. After you upload, the video is prepared in the background; it’s usually ready in a few minutes, and you can leave the page meanwhile.
From the Linxy App
On the Occasion’s Invitation tab, record a video or choose one from your phone. The app makes it smaller before sending it, so even a long recording from a new phone uploads quickly.
From the web
On the Invitation tab, under A short video from the hosts, choose Choose a video. MP4 or MOV, up to about two minutes. On the web, files up to 95 MB can be uploaded for now; the page checks the length and size before anything uploads and shows the progress. For a larger file, trim it, export it at a smaller size, or upload it from the Linxy App.
While it’s being prepared
The video is converted so it plays smoothly on every phone, with a still frame for guests to see first. Until the new video is ready, guests keep seeing the old one (or none). Remove takes the video off the invitation.
Symptoms, causes and fixes
| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| “Keep the video to about two minutes” | It’s longer than about two minutes | Trim it |
| “That video is too large to upload” | Over the web upload size | Export smaller, or upload from the Linxy App |
| “That video could not be prepared” | The file couldn’t be converted | Try another file, or a shorter one |
| Still preparing after a long wait | A long or very large video | Give it a few more minutes; if it fails, you’ll see a message |
